Background:

Viro International has a vision. A vision to be Australia’s leading environmental shopping rewards program. The team at Viro has created a truly unique green loyalty rewards program, a program where both consumers, retailers, and the environment benefit. The program works by offering rewards to consumers who shop within the Viro network of retailers, with the added benefit of shoppers being able to offset a portion of their carbon emissions through a very clever carbon calculator. Commercial partners & retailers also benefit by increased consumer loyalty and being able to offset a portion of their carbon emissions. Viro launched in 2010.

The Brief:

Viro briefed us on a large number of projects. The core to the brief was to position the brand as easy to use and easy to understand, while providing great rewards and positive environmental outcomes. Importantly the brief was not to “over green” the communication, but rather to ensure the benefits of the shopping program’s rewards were paramount to shoppers and retailers.

From design to direct marketing, from Facebook marketing to branding, we covered the lot. We ensured Viro’s message was consistent and met the key drivers for success. The key to a successful brand in the green space is to not just leverage from the brand’s green attributes, rather concentrate on the brand’s performance, offer, ease of use, accessibility and cost benefits.
